October Playlist 2019

In all honesty, I’ve had this playlist ready since the beginning of the month but kept putting off actually writing the paragraph to introduce this post.  I know, when did I get that lazy?  I’d like to blame it on being busy, because I definitely have been, but I should’ve found the time to write this earlier.  Anyways, I’m still so excited for you to listen to the fun music I’ve been enjoying lately!  I recently discovered The Valley and I’ve absolutely loved their album MAYBE, especially the song “There’s Still A Light In The House.”  A few other honorable mentions include “Colorado” by CHAPPY (which he wrote after serving on program at the YoungLife camp Frontier Ranch when I was there in 2017!), “Nothing Else” by Cody Caries (such a good worship song to help you focus on Jesus and refocus), and “Strawberry Swing” by Coldplay (which has easily become one of my favorite songs to study to).  The actual playlist on my Spotify has well outgrown the list shown on the graphic below, so be sure to check it out here if you want to hear more of what I’ve been listening to this month!  Enjoy!

September Playlist 2019

Since arriving at Baylor, one of the many things that have been super fun has been hearing my new friends’ favorite songs.  Being out of state and about a 13 hour car ride away from home, I don’t have my own car here, which means if I’m in a car I’m riding with my friends and one of them is always on the aux.  I’ve also been going to a ton of worship services and college ministries, so I’ve found and rediscovered a lot of beautiful worship music as well.  And don’t even get me started on the new Taylor Swift album – SO GOOD!  So there’s the explanation for today’s post, my September playlist!  You can follow me on Spotify here for access to the playlists that I’ve made for many moods and time periods in my life.  All of my playlists posted on the blog since July have corresponding playlists on my Spotify!  I will be adding more songs to the playlist as the month goes on (I’ve actually added a few more since I wrote this post), so if you follow the playlist you can stay up to date on what I’m listening to.  Enjoy!

August Playlist 2019

A new month means time for some new jams!  Today I’m sharing my August playlist – which begins with Taylor Swift’s newest single leading up to her album Lover, expected to drop on August 23rd!  If you’ve been keeping up with me for a while it probably isn’t surprising that I’m already obsessed with “Archer” and have a countdown on my phone for the album release (no shame).  As always, you can follow me on Spotify here for access to the playlists that I’ve made for many moods and time periods in my life.  All of my playlists posted on the blog have corresponding playlists on my Spotify (this began in July, so if you want to listen to that playlist on Spotify you can find it here)!  I will be adding more songs to the playlist as the month goes on, so if you follow the playlist you can stay up to date on what I’m listening to.  Enjoy!

July Playlist 2019

Y’all, it has been way too long since I last shared a playlist with you!  I consider blogging to be sharing a little bit of my life with you, and doing it so little (basically not at all) lately has broken my heart.  If you know me personally you know that I love sharing music with my friends and family, and I feel the same way about y’all!  Today’s post is my July playlist, and I just can’t wait to hear what you think of these songs.  If you’ve read my blog for long, you know I usually link every song to their video on YouTube, but I have exciting news!  I’m on Spotify!  Finally!  You can follow me on Spotify here, and all of my playlists posted on the blog will have corresponding playlists on my Spotify from now on.  I will be adding more songs to the playlist as the month goes on (I’ve already added a few more since I made the graphic below), so if you follow the playlist you can stay up to date on what I’m listening to.  Enjoy!

December Playlist 2018

December is without a doubt my favorite month of the year.  I’m forever obsessed with the twinkle lights, Christmas songs, and ice skating rinks.  Today I’m sharing my December playlist, which includes a couple Christmas songs along with my usual mix of electronic, alternative, rap, and worship songs.  My favorite song right now is “Wylin'” by Always Never, but I’ve also been especially loving “God Be” by Chris Renzema and the incredible retake of “All I Want for Christmas Is You” by Cappa.  Enjoy!

November Playlist 2018

I’m not sure if this is my latest monthly playlist post ever but I’m sure it’s pretty close (oops).  I thought about saving this playlist for December but I’ve just found so much good music lately I needed to share it all!  I promise the December playlist is coming in a more timely manner though (December 5th to be exact).  Lately I’ve been obsessed with “So Will I (100 Billion X),” and yes, I know I’m super late to that party.  I’ve also been loving Chelsea Cutler’s new album, “Sleeping With Roses II,” and several songs by Maggie Rogers, especially “Light On.”  Okay, okay, let’s get to the playlist!  Enjoy!

October Playlist 2018

I’ve had a hectic month or so (that’s why this playlist is so late!), and I think this month’s playlist reflects that.  It’s a little all over the place, from the upbeat electronic beats of “Body” by Loud Luxury to the nostalgic belting of Troye Sivan in “Suburbia.” Needless to say, I love them all and as always I’m super excited for you to listen to this playlist!  My absolute favorites are Taylor Swift’s 2011 cover of “Bette Davis Eyes,” “Cold Showers” by Chelsea Cutler, and “If You See Her” by LANY.  Enjoy!

September Playlist 2018

I’m not going to lie, most of this past month I’ve been listening to a mix of various Taylor Swift songs and worship music.  I haven’t been able to let “O Come to the Altar” and “Reckless Love” from last month’s playlist slip my daily life, and after seeing Taylor Swift in concert for the fourth time I’m in awe of each masterpiece of a song all over again.  That said, I’ve recently become a lot more open to actually listening to the songs people recommend via their Instagram stories (because I have to find new music to share with y’all somewhere!).  Boy do I recommend doing this – worst-case scenario you hate the song twenty seconds in and you turn it off, best case scenario it’s your new favorite!  My absolute favorites from this playlist are “Beige” (which I swear is a lot better than the name would suggest), “Sleeping With Roses,” and Taylor Swift’s Fearless Platinum Edition bonus song, “SuperStar.”  Enjoy!

August Playlist 2018

After a month of listening only to what our Work Crew bosses chose to play in the dining hall and laundry room and the worship music we sang in Work Crew meetings and club, I somehow haven’t been able to listen to much of anything else.  You’ll notice this month’s playlist has a much greater saturation of worship music than my typical playlist, but I promise each worship song I added is really that good, especially considering the fact that I’m usually not one to listen to a lot of worship music on my own.  My absolute favorites from this playlist are “Come Thou Fount,” “High Tops,” “Testify,” and LANY’s newest release that I missed while I was away, “Thru These Tears.”  Enjoy!
